Devil's Triangle

Image
Yes, I rode it.  Guilty as charged! Mid-March, and the weather is perfect this Friday the 14th. After some overnight rain, the road is dry, and I'm craving some fresh air. So, I saddled up my Road Glide and headed East to explore a new area near Knoxville and Oak Ridge. #Slackertime! A few sprinkles on the way, but nothing to worry about. The ride on US-70 was mostly uneventful, but TN-298 was a great warm-up for the adventure ahead. Everyone raves about "The Dragon," but today, I decided to tackle the " Devil's Triangle " for my day trip. Petros, TN, is the starting point for TN-116; I made a brief stop at the " Brushy Mountain Penitentiary ." nearby. I'll have to return when it's open again – the "paranormal" warning sounds intriguing!  Unfortunately, the Brushy Mountain Distillery was closed too, so that's another reason to come back. TN-116 was totally worth it, with its twists, turns, hairpins, and stunning scenery. It...

From the Geeky Corner...360 Video

Finally  got around to put together some GoPro Max footage I collected back in 2023, from our trip to the Harley-Davidson Homecoming Festival.  This is as basic as it gets, with just some basic trimming of video clips, snapping them together in Adobe Premiere Pro, and export them to YouTube. I can say that the process itself has improved quite a bit (mostly stability of the GoPro Player app to "Reframe"), and I'm sure I'm going to take that camera out a bit more this year.  Not sure it works on your desktop browser (it did for me); on your phone, you should be able to "look around" by moving your phone or use the arrows on the top left. It's most fun watching it on a VR headset though. Bring the "Settings" up to 4k for best quality.  Let me know your thoughts!

6584 Miles of Summer - Recap

After the trip is before the trip. For starters - I'm curious and would love to hear your feedback on the content you have read the past posts; thoughts on the videos (time warp or standard?), photos and content. Let me know. the 2025 season is coming up :-) It's been a fantastic experience, many memories made on this trip. Quite a few coind collected along the way (and while not the only reason to go the extra mile, it's a great way to explore some cool and interesting spots).  " 50 Rides, 1 Nation " .... and the " 10 for 24 " on this ride. Now in the 2025 riding season, let's see what will be next. Daytona Bike Week sounds intriguing, now I'm fairly close to ride there for a short looksie. It's the 85th anniversary of the Sturgis Rally . Steel Horse Rally is also "nearby". the " Homecoming " has to take a back seat. And then weaving in some of the " 15 for 25 " location challenges - Decisions, decisions.... ...

The horizon isn't filled with stars but with the glow of refineries. Despite the early hour, the traffic is intense, and my goal is to escape it as quickly and safely as possible. The moment I cross the state line into...
